Started by immigrants from Germany, this brewery is oldest in the USA. It is younger amongst all other old brew brothers, starting in the year 1829. Moreover, it’s also the largest privately owned brewery in the world.
- JAMES GATE BREWERY- DUBLIN, IRELAND
Home to one of the most loved beers, Guinness, St. James gate brewery began when its creator, Arthur Guinness signed a lease of 9000 years for a property. That was in the year 1759. While most Irish breweries were satisfied with their domestic sales, Guinness kept its exports high at all times, giving everyone a chance to enjoy their Guinness- déanta as níos mó.
- SMITHWICKS- KILKENNY, IRELAND
The tales of Irish beer begins with Smithwicks that has a 305 years old history of brewing super quality Irish Ale. Starting in 1710, they have won numerous awards for their brew that has a distinct taste and aroma.
- HUBERTUS BEER- AUSTRIA
It was a popular brewery until World War 1 brought a dramatic shift to the country. However, they still brew great quality beer and are in operation since the year 1454.
- BOLTEN ALT- GERMANY
This brewery is the oldest Altbier brewery in the world that was established in the year 1266. It was transferred from generations to generations for hundreds of years and no one ever changed the recipe.
- WEIHENSTEPHAN BREWERY – WEIHENSTEPHAN, GERMANY
This brewery has survived 4-5 complete burn-downs, plagues, famine, earthquake and of course, war. Even with all the setbacks, they managed to survive almost a THOUSAND YEARS. Yes, that’s right. The Benedictine monastery where this brewery began was established in 725 but the brewing began in the year 1040.
